How to get to Guadalajara
By air
The Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo International Airport is the second most important airport in Mexico in terms of aircraft traffic and third in terms of the number of passengers. It is located 10.5 miles to the south of the state capital (in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zuñiga) and works with 19 commercial and 21 cargo airlines that travel to 52 cities in Mexico, Central America and the United States. Terminal 2 offers foreign tourism services, receiving a large number of passengers on international flights, as well as offering exclusive boarding lounges for airlines.
By land
The State of Jalisco has 15,847.43 miles of highways divided into four routes which connect to the rest of the country and the United States.
Guadalajara-Nogales Highway: Connects Jalisco with the capitals of the northern states of Mexico, as well as with Pacific coast ports.
Guadalajara-Manzanillo-Colima Highway: Links Ciudad Guzman with the port of Manzanillo.
Guadalajara-Mexico Highway: Connects Jalisco with the center and southeast of the country.
Guadalajara-Lagos de Moreno-Aguascalientes Highway: Connects the state with San Luis Potosi and links it with the northeastern states of Mexico.
The New Guadalajara Bus Terminal has 32 intercity bus lines with destinations all over the country and in the United States. There are 16,000 taxis in the Metropolitan Area, of which 5,000 are exclusively for tourist services.
