In-Depth Short Course: Radiology of the Equine Digit

P Step outside the box with Dr. Ric Redden for a 2 ½ day in-depth teaching session on his unique approach to equine podiatry radiography. This in-depth short course will be held June 1-3, 2007 at the Falling Springs Theater, located in Versailles, KY. Register early, as seating is limited.

Increased awareness of how to prevent and solve foot problems over the past ten years has changed the demand of today’s cliental, who are looking for vets and farriers with a working knowledge not only of how to fix problem feet but also of how to keep a foot healthy. To successfully develop a preventative foot program, veterinarians and farriers must depend on each other’s backgrounds, which are strikingly different. Their combined efforts set the stage for success, and the basis for that stage is radiology.

Radiology of the equine foot serves as invaluable blueprints for podiatrists. This course is designed to teach veterinarians a reliable, repeatable radiographic technique, and farriers how to read meaningful information from radiographs. When veterinarians and farriers collaborate with mechanical and medical knowledge relative to informative film, the course of treatment takes on a whole new meaning, greatly enhancing the service of both professions. Topics covered during this 2 ½ day seminar will include:
·  How to take consistent, comparative and informative film
·  How to read and interpret soft tissue parameters
·  Soft tissue and bone pathology
·  How to use film as a blueprint for designing therapeutic shoes
·  Venogram technique and interpretation, case studies and more
